The GAMETRAPP project aims to train scholars in the full post-editing of abstracts of scientific articles in the Iberian Spanish > US English language combinations. This international and inter-university project where nine Universities are participating (seven Spanish Universities, i.e., UMA, UCO, UPO, UAH, UVA, UCM, and VIU, and two American Universities, i.e., Kent State University and Utah Valley University) aims to facilitate scholars and non-professional translators training full neural machine translation (NMT) post-editing using a gamified environment. To achieve this aim, the project will pursue the following eight goals:

1. Establish potential patterns of full post-editing by non-professional translators and scholars.

2. Evaluate the quality of non-professional translators and scholars’ full post-editing.

3. Compare the full post-editing quality and solutions between professional translators versus non-professional translators and scholars.

4. Explore both theoretically and empirically human-machine parity in NMT and its implications in full post-editing.

5. Identify the challenges that full post-editing of NMT of research abstracts translated from English into Spanish poses.

6. Propose post-editing guidelines for NMT in research abstracts machine translated from English into Spanish.

7. Address the impact of a gamified environment as a learning approach in a lifelong learning context.

8. Assess gender-inclusive solutions in full post-editing of NMT of research abstracts translated from English into Spanish.
