Jean-Pierre Colson conference
On May 27th our research group had the honor to organise a lecture with the collaboration of the Department of Translation and Interpreting and the University of Malaga. Jean-Pierre Colson, professor in Translation and Interpreting of the Université catholique de Louvain, gave a conference titled “Is phraseology the third articulation of language? Fresh insights into a theoretical conundrum” and addressed to the students of the Official Master in Translation Applied to the World of Publishing and the doctoral students of the PhD Programme in Linguistics, Literature and Translation. Among the attendees, we could find some renowned researches: Dr. Antonio Pamies, from the University of Granada, and Prof. Ruslan Mitkov, from the University of Wolverhampton and member of LEXYTRAD.
We would like to thank Dr. Colson for his rewarding conference and all the attendees for their participation in the event!
Research seminar
On May 26th LEXYTRAD organised a research seminar in which we could show Jean-Pierre Colson, professor in Translation and Interpreting of the Université catholique de Louvain, the latest version of our intelligent dictionary INTELITERM (project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) and the progress in the PhD thesis of Anna Zaretskaya and Hernani Costa, Marie Curie fellows from the EXPERT project.
Most of the PhD students of Prof. Corpas could also attend the seminar and had the chance to outline their doctoral researches. Members of LEXYTRAD joined the research seminar too.
We would like to thank Dr. Colson for the valuable pieces of advice that offered to our doctoral students and his compliments to INTELITERM!
