BA in English Philology from the University of Cádiz (1990) and PhD in English Philology from the same university in January 2016 (with high honours) with a doctoral dissertation entitled “Organización y representación término-ontológica del dominio de la seguridad de la navegación marítima (inglés-español)/ Term-ontology organization and representation of the safety of navigation domain (English-Spanish)”. Full-time lecturer at the Department of English and French Philology of the University of Cádiz (1990-current). Wide experience in teaching English for Specific Purposes, particularly Maritime English. Coordinator of several university innovative education projects. Her lines of research are focused on Applied Linguistics, more specifically on Terminology (International Award for Distinguished Achievement in Terminology 2023, from the European Association for Terminology, EAFT), ESP and Maritime English, Corpus Linguistics, Natural Language Processing and domain ontologies, Technology-Enhanced Language Learning, and Specialised Translation (scientific-technical and legal-commercial). Research results presented in academic events and published in national and international academic scientific publications. Coordinator of the Terminology thematic panel of the European Association of Languages for Specific Purposes (AELFE) since 2017.
